Craig Brashears, born in Lakewood, NJ, but now in Virginia Beach, VA, has been fishing his whole life. Two years ago, after his grandfather passed, he was looking for a connection. Since he couldn’t purchase a boat, he bought a kayak. “Now I don’t want to fish out of anything else.” His favorite kayak fishing memory is when he caught a pound and a half blue gill. “I acted like a little kid, and my good friend Wayne just laughed at me.” He fishes at local tournaments, and while he hasn’t won any yet, he loves the connections and friends he can make at tournaments.
“I love the adventure, the not knowing and the ability to fish in places few get to fish only because you are on a kayak.”
