Josh Carter is from Bedford, Virginia. He attended diesel school, and now works with United Rentals as a service tech. Josh has a family consisting of Tammy, his wife, Matthew, his son, and Alyssa, his daughter. He has a YouTube channel and a podcast on iTunes, Stitcher, and Blogtalkradio.
Growing up in an outdoors-oriented family, his favorite fishing memory is from when he was eight years old. He and his father went out on the James River in Virginia, when he used artificial baits for the first time while bass fishing. On his fifth cast of using these baits (a pumpkin seed Berkley worm with a Chart tail) he caught a three-pound bass; on the next cast, he hooked another. Josh says that he’s been “hooked ever since”. As a result of this newfound love, Josh has been fishing for thirty years. While he prefers to fish in a bass boat, of the twenty fishing tournaments Josh has participated in, two of those have been kayak fishing tournaments- including the YakAttack Benefit tournament. He’s rung in two wins, and landed in the top twenty category- eight different times. Josh’s only regret regarding fishing is that he feels he does not do so enough.
“Fishing has always been my escape from life problems. But one of my biggest life problems is that I don’t fish enough. I love the sport of Bass fishing. Switching from bass boat tournaments to kayak tournaments has been an awesome transition. Bonafide makes it that much better. “
