Jen Mues

Culbertson, NE

Jennifer Mues, native of Culbertson, Nebraska, has been fishing since she was “knee high to a grasshopper”. She started kayak fishing about seven years ago, and now enjoys the sport with her husband, Dustin, and their children, Drake and Daelyn. She finds that kayak fishing allows her to be of sound mind, body, and soul, but also loves fishing tournaments. Her most recent competitions were the Kayakpalooza Multi-Species Tournament and the Midwest Kayak Fishing Series. She holds a handful of Nebraska Largemouth Master Anglers, and a personal best of 21.75".

Her family has a fishing channel on YouTube, on which they frequently upload unboxings, DIYs, and other fishing-related content. Her favorite fishing memory is finding a rare rhino fossil (Teleoceras) on Father’s Day 2017, which led to excavating with the University of Nebraska’s Paleontologists, which led to being given a Mues Family fossil bin at Morrill Hall in Lincoln, Nebraska! She describes it as a truly epic experience.

“The more grateful I am, the more beauty I see.”
